Introduction

Welcome to
The Scottish Police & Community Choir

We just love to sing – it’s what we do!

Fun, friendship and fundraising through singing, performing and community engagement is at the heart of our mission – to promote the health benefits of singing together for pleasure, the wellbeing and inclusivity of members and supporting good causes and charity events, all while promoting a positive, lighter side to our Police family and Police Scotland.
We are a mixed voice contemporary choir singing pop, rock and classic standards including many of our own arrangements of well-known pieces.
We rehearse and perform in our own time at fundraisers, charity functions, memorial events, celebrations of all kinds, both local and national. We hold weekly rehearsals in both Glasgow and Perth with our outstanding Musical Director team, Dougie and Stephanie.

“I've met so many fantastic people through this brilliant choir and had some wonderful performance opportunities - The Red Steps at Times Square, NYC; The Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow; The Usher Hall and Festival Theatre in Edinburgh; selling out at Edinburghs International Fringe Festival, T in the Park, flash mobs, concerts performing with Russell Watson and Dougie Maclean. I love singing - the release, the emotion, the concentration - and achieving something with others who also love performing. The feeling when a piece of music comes together with all the harmonies and makes sense is just the best. Even when everyday life is stressful and busy and chaotic, singing with the SPCC gives me real joy.”

"I joined this special choir just as I took early retirement and have enjoyed every minute sharing time with some great people. Rehearsals are good fun, the singing is wonderful and learning new songs keeps your mind working in a creative and enjoyable way. Performing is the icing on the cake."

"Mid-life crisis, what mid-life crisis? Well, a few years ago I desperately needed to find a new challenge, a new hobby to occupy my spare time. I needed something I’d not done before that would get me out the house, mean I’d meet new people, and be both enjoyable and challenging in equal measure. I’ve found all of this and more at the SPCC. If this choir had a motto it would read ‘You’ll wish you’d joined us years ago."
