No – as long as you can sing, are willing to learn and can hold a tune, you are more than welcome to join us. We use sheet music for practice but we perform without. It’s a bonus if you can read music, but we have lots of support in place to help learning with section leads and section rehearsals, voice clips, rehearsal recordings and MP3 files.
We have a low monthly subscription of £20. You will receive a choir polo shirt (which we wear for our more low key performances) and the men will also be given a tie for more formal events.
This subscription also covers all rehearsal costs, music tuition, tea and coffee at rehearsals and some transport costs for events outwith our normal rehearsal area. It also covers website and music / file sharing costs and some extra special events such as professional recording and bespoke workshops for the benefit and development of members. Concessions available on a case by case basis depending on circumstances.
Our wonderful Choir is made up of serving police officers, police staff, retired police officers and support staff, partner agency staff, friends, family and members of the communities we serve, anyone is welcome to join us – no police connection required.
You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
If you’d like to know more, send us a message and we will sort the rest!
